Brett Chappell has a diverse set of work experience spanning multiple industries. Brett began their career in 1991 as a SEAL in the U.S. Navy SEAL Teams and served in this role until 1999. After leaving the military, Chappell transitioned into the private sector and worked as a General Sales Manager at Performance Auto Group from 2002 to 2009.
In 2012, Chappell joined Teach For America, where they held various roles such as Corps Member & Secondary Science Teacher, Manager of the Military Veteran & Military Spouse Recruitment & Support Initiative, and Manager of Professional Recruitment Strategy. Their time with Teach For America lasted until 2016.
Following this, Chappell worked as the Director of Talent at Success Academy Charter Schools from 2016 to 2018. Brett then moved on to become the Chief Talent Officer at Seton Education Partners and Brilla Public Charter Schools, where they stayed until 2023.
In 2023, Chappell took on the role of Chief People Officer at PRACTICE Benefit Corp, where they are currently employed.
Brett Chappell completed a Master's Degree in Human Capital Management from Columbia University, from 2019 to 2021. Prior to that, Brett obtained a Master's Degree, specializing in Secondary Science, from Arizona State University, from 2012 to 2014. Brett's educational journey started with a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences from Arizona State University, which was completed from 2009 to 2011.
