Stephen C. Jones has a long and varied work experience. From 1999 to 2016, they held various positions in the legal, software engineering, and analytics fields. In 1999, they worked as a Software Developer for Bass's Mod Shack. In 2005, they worked as a Software Engineer for the Impro-Visor Project at Harvey Mudd College, where they co-authored a paper published in 2007 and presented their work at the 2006 European Conference for Artificial Intelligence. In 2007, they were an Analytic Science Intern at FICO, where they researched and developed algorithms and drafted a white paper detailing their research and results. In 2008, they were a Judicial Extern at the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California, where they researched and drafted reports and recommendations, drafted an order in a free speech case discovery dispute, and analyzed pre-emption issues. In 2009, they were a Summer Associate at Morrison & Foerster LLP. From 2010 to 2016, they worked at Morrison & Foerster LLP as a Patent Attorney, Assistant General Counsel, and Senior Counsel. In 2016, they became General Counsel at Praedicat, Inc., where they partnered with the executive team to minimize legal and regulatory risk in strategic decision-making.

Stephen C. Jones attended Carlsbad High School and St. Patrick School prior to enrolling at Harvey Mudd College where they obtained a B.S. in Computer Science and Music in 2007. Stephen C. then went on to attend the University of California, Los Angeles - School of Law and obtained a J.D. in 2010. In December of that same year, they were admitted to the State Bar of California. In October of 2011, they were certified as a Patent Attorney by the USPTO.
