Senior Bioinformatics Scientist at Pragma Bio

Lanying Ma is a highly skilled bioinformatics scientist with extensive experience in studying Biosynthetic Gene Clusters (BGCs) and microbiome analysis. Currently serving as a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist II at Pragma Bio since August 2020, Lanying Ma has developed machine learning pipelines to predict health outcomes, enhanced BGC identification processes, and performed bulk RNA-seq data analysis. Previous roles include Senior Bioinformatics Scientist at Pragma Bio, focusing on gut microbiome research related to cancer therapy, and Bioinformatics Scientist at Second Genome Inc., where Lanying Ma analyzed microbiomes in relation to hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. A postdoctoral researcher at Iowa State University, Lanying Ma investigated microbial communities in bioenergy crops and antibiotic resistance genes in agricultural watersheds. Lanying Ma holds a PhD in Microbiology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and a Master's degree from Shandong University.
