Melissa Smith

Melissa Smith, SHRM-SCP, serves as Vice President of Human Resources at PrairieCare, where significant achievements include elevating employee engagement scores for three consecutive years and leading transformational HR initiatives. Previously promoted to Chief Human Resources Officer, Melissa significantly revamped the HR department in anticipation of an acquisition. Prior HR roles include Director of Team Member Experience at North Memorial Health, where oversight included HR strategy for 5,000 employees, and HR Manager roles at GE Oil & Gas and other organizations. Melissa holds a Master's degree in Human Resources and Industrial Relations and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Spanish from the University of Minnesota.
