Matthew Garklavs

Matthew Garklavs is an experienced library professional currently serving as the Electronic Resources Librarian and Assistant Professor at Pratt Institute since June 2018. Prior to this role, Matthew worked as the Technical Services and Systems Librarian at The Bard Graduate Center from January 2015 to June 2018, and as Librarian/Archivist at St. Vladimir's Orthodox Theological Seminary from October 2010 to January 2015. Earlier positions include Circulation Student Supervisor and Interlibrary Loan Assistant at Simmons College, Library Assistant internships at Appalachian Mountain Club, Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation, Congregational Library and Archives, and Thoreau Institute Library, and Archivist/Cafe Manager at Cinema Arts Centre. Matthew holds a Master of Library and Information Science degree with a focus on Archives Management from Simmons College (2008-2010) and a Bachelor of Arts in Russian Studies from Bard College (2003-2007).
