Russell Abell

Russell Abell has extensive experience in library and information science, currently serving as Director at Pratt Institute Libraries since March 2010 and as Director of Libraries at Pratt Institute since the same year. Russell has been involved with Connect New York as a Board Member from 2010 to 2016 and participated as a presentation attendee at the ARLIS/NA 2013 Pasadena Conference. Previous roles include Project Archivist at the Camp Fire Club of America and at the American Museum of Natural History, where Russell also volunteered as a Project Archivist. Russell has a significant history with Pratt Institute, serving in various capacities from 2000 to 2008, including Multi Media Services Director and Producer for the Pratt Show Student Showcase. Educational qualifications include an MLS in Library and Information Science and an MFA in Painting from Pratt Institute, as well as a BA in Art and Psychology from Hastings College.
