Maggie Johnson

Maggie Johnson is a dedicated professional currently serving as the Community Engagement Coordinator at the Greater Portland Council of Governments, where efforts focus on enhancing the inclusion of underrepresented communities in transportation planning. In addition, Maggie leads programs for young adults with cancer or multiple sclerosis at First Descents and provides support to unhoused youth at Preble Street. Experience as a Lead Staff member at Backroads and roles as a bicycle mechanic and tour guide at Lighthouse Bikes showcase a background in outdoor leadership and adventure. Previous positions include outdoor educator at Naturalists At Large, policy intern roles with Franklin Square Group and the United States Congress, and managing rock climbing facilities at Oberlin College. Maggie holds a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies and Economics from Oberlin College.
