The Opportunity     Precede Biosciences is seeking a Senior Director/Vice President, Cancer Epigenomic Networks to report directly to the CSO and be a part of a growing translational science team that develops and implements the scientific biomarker strategy, including experimental design, execution, and collaboration with external partners such as leading academic researchers and biopharmaceutical companies.     About Us    We are pioneering an advanced, minimally invasive, comprehensive epigenomics platform with the potential to profoundly impact the research and development of new medicines and the use of approved medicines in clinical practice across a number of conditions, including cancer. Your Role

  • Work closely with the CSO and the rest of the Translational Sciences and Computation Biology and Bioinformatics teams, contribute to the development of the Precede scientific strategy including the identification of key scientific questions that need to be prioritized
  • Own the development of the strategy in cancer pathways and the development of blood based epigenomic approaches to measure cancer hallmarks and networks as defined together with the CSO and translational team
  • Collaborate to design and drive execution of impactful studies that assess the utility of Precede’s unique epigenomic liquid biopsy platform to inform drug development and clinical decision-making
  • Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with investigators and biopharmaceutical companies, working together with CSO, the head of external research and partnerships, and the business development team
  • Contribute to the analysis, interpretation, and communication of scientific and clinical data, including communication at major scientific meetings
  • Deepen our knowledge of science of current and future potential epigenomic assays and conduct diligence to understand the evolving landscape of diagnostics and biomarkers
  • Establish strong cross-functional relationships to enable superior performance against scientific and company objectives, including team members across computational biology, assay development, business development, and operations

Who You Are

  • Great teammate who is passionate about impacting the lives of others positively
  • M.D. or Ph.D. with a focus on cancer biology or a related field
  • Extensive knowledge of cancer hallmarks and networks such as EMT, cell death, senescence, epigenomic drivers, DNA damage and immuno-oncology and inflammation among others.
  • Knowledgeable and applied experience in epigenomics and translational research including histone biology, methylation and fragmentomics
  • Published author with track record of peer-reviewed publications and presentations
  • Builder of effective relationships with internal teams and external partners in academia, industry, and regulatory agencies to enable effective strategy development and execution
  • Strategic and operational thinker with a strong bias for action
