Ajit Pillai

Ajit Pillai has over 20 years of experience in program and product management, research and development, and engineering. In 1998, they began their career as a Lecturer at the University of Mumbai, and in 1999 they became a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Tennessee. In 2002, they joined St. Jude Medical as a Senior Clinical Systems Engineer and Software Engineer, Verification and Validation. In 2010, they moved to Promega as a Senior Project Manager, Instrumentation, where they co-led the development of a 5-year strategic product roadmap and built an R&D organization to execute. In 2013, they joined Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Senior Manager, Program Management, where they helped the company enter the Next Gen Sequencing (NGS) market for its Human Identification (HID) business. In 2015, they joined BD as a Director, Clinical Programs, where they led product strategy on the company’s cancer research portfolio and other IVD products for clinical labs globally. In 2017, they joined Eargo as a Senior Vice President, Research and Development, where they led the product development strategy, portfolio execution, and R&D team transformation and growth. In 2022, they joined Precision Neuroscience as Vice President Program Management.

Ajit Pillai obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Mumbai between 1994 and 1998. Ajit then went on to earn a Master of Science in Biomedical Engg from The University of Tennessee Health Science Center between 1999 and 2002. In 2011, they completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing and Management from Santa Clara University. In 2013, they obtained a PMP certification from PMI.
