Jeffery Kinnison has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Jeffery is currently working as a Machine Learning Engineer at Predibase since July 2022. Prior to this, they worked at the University of Notre Dame as a Graduate Research Assistant from May 2015 to May 2023, where they conducted research in machine learning and computer vision with applications to neuroscience and the digital humanities. Jeffery also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant from August 2015 to May 2016, preparing curriculum and leading lectures for engineering and web applications courses.
Jeffery also worked at Argonne National Laboratory, starting as a Cooperative Education Student from September 2019 to September 2021, where they developed and optimized tools for computational neuroscience on supercomputing systems. Jeffery then worked as a Research Aide from May 2019 to September 2019, participating in Department of Energy workshops and planning for the incorporation of artificial intelligence into new projects.
In addition, Jeffery had an internship at Indiana University Bloomington as a Google Summer of Code Intern from April 2016 to August 2016, where they planned and implemented a software addition for the Apache Airavata project.
Prior to that, they worked at Health Security Solutions as an Operations Manager from January 2015 to May 2015, handling data collection and coordination with healthcare facilities for patient record security. Jeffery also prepared and presented HIPAA security compliance risk assessment reports and performed software development tasks.
At Clemson University, Jeffery served as a Lead Undergraduate Researcher from November 2013 to December 2014, conducting research in cloud computing and distributed performance monitoring, with a focus on real-time streaming and data transformation for haptic systems.
Jeffery Kinnison earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, where they attended from 2015 to 2020. Prior to that, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Computer Science and English at Clemson University, which they completed between 2010 and 2014.
