Carmen Iturriaga

Carmen Iturriaga Sainz is a seasoned sustainability and forestry specialist with extensive experience in responsible sourcing and forest management. Currently serving as a Senior Sustainability Specialist and Responsible Sourcing Specialist at Preferred by Nature since May 2016, Carmen supports companies in implementing Due Diligence systems to meet EUTR requirements, conducts verification audits across multiple countries, and coordinates FSC & PEFC certification in Spain. Prior roles include Government Forest Manager at the Forestry Department of the Regional Government of Navarra, where Carmen ensured sustainable forest management, and various positions focusing on forest consultancy and project management. Carmen holds a degree in Silvapastoral Engineering from E.T.S. Ingenieros de Montes, along with additional qualifications in Geographic Information Systems and international coursework in forestry.
