Rhia Veronica Richardson

Veronica Richardson, RHIA, CHPS has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Veronica most recently served as the Vice President of Integrity at Preferred Family Healthcare, starting in February 2023. Prior to that, they worked as the Director of Compliance Risk Management at the same company from January 2021 to February 2023.

Before joining Preferred Family Healthcare, Veronica was the HIM Director at Perimeter Behavioral Hospital of Springfield from March 2019 to June 2020. Veronica also gained experience as an HIM Intern at CoxHealth in August 2018, and as a HIT Intern at Ozarks Community Hospital and Burrell Behavioral Health in July 2013 and June 2013, respectively.

Veronica's earlier professional roles include serving as an Accounting Clerk at Penmac, Inc. from August 2012 to November 2012, and as a Medical Records Clerk/Billing Coordinator at OACAC from December 2005 to August 2012. Veronica began their career in the industry as a Starbucks Manager/Barista at RPCS from August 2003 to November 2005.

Veronica Richardson, RHIA, CHPS, has a strong educational background in the field of health information administration. Veronica obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Health Information Administration from Stephens College in 2018. Prior to that, they completed an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Health Information Technology from Ozarks Technical Community College in 2013. Veronica also holds a Certificate of Achievement in Coding Specialist from the same institution, earned in 2013.

In addition to their degrees, Veronica has obtained several certifications to enhance their professional qualifications. Veronica achieved the Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA®) certification from AHIMA in January 2019. This certification validates their expertise in managing patient health information and medical records in various healthcare settings. Subsequently, in August 2022, they obtained the Certified in Healthcare Privacy and Security (CHPS) certification, also from AHIMA. This certification demonstrates their proficiency in safeguarding patient privacy and ensuring compliance with security regulations within the healthcare industry.
