Junichiro Iwasawa

Junichiro Iwasawa is a researcher at Preferred Networks, Inc. since April 2021, leading the development of a deep learning-based solution for medical image analysis in collaboration with a pharmaceutical company. Iwasawa has been a visiting researcher and Ph.D. student at The University of Tokyo since April 2018, previously holding a DC1 Research Fellow position at the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science from April 2018 to March 2021 and working as a part-time researcher at Preferred Networks, Inc. from August 2019 to March 2020. Additional experience includes a visiting student role at Princeton University in late 2015, where Iwasawa contributed to numerical modeling of core collapse supernovae. Iwasawa's educational background includes a Ph.D. in Biophysics from The University of Tokyo, focusing on drug resistance evolution of bacteria, an MS in Non-equilibrium Statistical Physics, and a BS in Physics, all obtained from The University of Tokyo.
