Shotaro Sano

Shotaro Sano is a seasoned technical product manager and engineering manager at Preferred Networks, Inc. since February 2018, currently focusing on the development of multi-modal large language models (PLaMo). Sano has successfully managed engineering teams across various domains, advancing artificial general intelligence technology. Previously, Sano contributed to the growth of the Optuna AutoML library, leading major releases and supporting a wide user community. Prior experience includes roles as a machine learning engineer at Recruit Communications Co., Ltd., and technology analyst at Goldman Sachs, where Sano optimized systems for finance operations. Sano holds a Master's degree and Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Kyoto University, completed between 2007 and 2014.
