Gary Rice has a diverse work experience spanning from 1983 to 2023. Gary started their career in the United States Navy as a Nuclear Machinist Mate from 1983 to 1989. Following their service in the Navy, they worked at the Coen Company as a Field Service Coordinator from 1995 to 1999, then as a Project Manager in the HRSG/Duct Burner Division from 1999 to 2002, and finally as a Project Manager for Boiler Burner Retrofits and Turnkey from 2002 to 2004.

Gary then joined John Zink Hamworthy Combustion, where they held several positions, including Project Manager for Boiler Burners from 2004 to 2005, Field Service Manager from 2005 to 2007, and Director of Aftermarket from 2007 to 2012.

After that, they joined Preferred Utilities Manufacturing Corporation and worked as an Engineering Manager from 2012 to 2018. Following their time at Preferred Utilities, they worked at Zeeco, Inc. as a Senior Project Manager from 2018 to 2019.

Currently, Gary Rice is Vice President of Preferred Special Combustion Engineering at Preferred Utilities Manufacturing Corporation, a position they have held since June 2023.

Gary Rice attended California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo from 1990 to 1995, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
