Lisa Carson

Lisa Carson has extensive work experience in finance and accounting. Lisa has held various roles in different companies throughout their career.

Lisa'smost recent position was as the Vice President and Head of Finance & Controller at Prelude Therapeutics Incorporated, a clinical stage precision oncology company. In this role, they were responsible for all day-to-day accounting and financial functions, including operational accounting, external audit coordination, treasury management, and SEC filings. Lisa also built the accounting and finance function to support the company through the IPO process and its growth from 40 to 120 employees.

Prior to that, Lisa worked at TELA Bio, a medical device company, where they held roles such as Senior Director of Accounting Operations and Director of Finance. In these positions, they played a key role in supporting the company from its inception through its IPO, implemented accounting functions, and was responsible for financial reporting and analysis, budgeting, human resources support, and inventory controls.

Before joining TELA Bio, Lisa operated their own consulting company called Carson Consulting. As a Principal, they provided controller level accounting and audit services to various biotech start-ups and other industries.

Lisa also has experience working in other biotech companies, including PhaseBio Pharmaceuticals, Azelon Pharmaceuticals (formerly known as Zelos Therapeutics), and Nucleonics, Inc., where they held roles such as Controller. In these positions, they maintained accounting and financial reporting functions, managed accounts payable and payroll, and coordinated audits.

Additionally, Lisa has worked as a Finance Consultant at HR Logic Inc, where they provided payroll and benefits outsourcing solutions to companies nationwide. Lisa also had earlier roles as a Commissions Manager at Comcast Metrophone|Comcast Cellular and Finance Manager/Internal Audit at NovaCare, Inc.
