Beitske Smink has extensive experience in toxicology and pharmacotherapy, currently serving as a toxicologist pharmacist at Maastricht UMC+ since June 2020. Simultaneously, Beitske holds the position of chief editor for PiL at Prelum, focusing on practical continuing education in primary care, where the publication is free from advertisements and sponsorships. Prior experience includes serving as a toxicologist pharmacist and scientific secretary for the Health Council from April 2018 to April 2020, and a long tenure at the Netherlands Forensic Institute from April 1996 to April 2020. Beitske's educational background includes a PhD from the University of Groningen and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Utrecht University, complemented by postgraduate training in toxicology that established the European Registered Toxicologist credential.
