Derek L. Mayberry

Derek L. Mayberry, MBA, MSN, RN, NE-BC, serves as the Director of Nursing at Miami Valley Hospital, overseeing the Neuro Intensive & Stepdown, Med/Surg, Dialysis, and Bariatrics units, with responsibility for approximately 360 full-time equivalents and a combined operating revenue and expense of $270 million and $50 million, respectively. Previous roles at Miami Valley Hospital include Nurse Manager for the Cardiac Surgery/Heart & Vascular Advanced Care unit, where management of a 36-bed unit and over 75 direct reports was instrumental. Additional experience includes serving as Program Manager for Fall Prevention and Associate Nurse Manager of the General Surgical Unit. Mayberry is currently the Chair of the Social Media Ambassadors for the American Organization for Nursing Leadership and has held multiple nursing roles within Premier Health Partners. Mayberry holds a Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management and a Master’s in Nursing Leadership and Management from Western Governors University, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Indiana University East.
