Premise is growing! We’re hiring a Business Development Manager to help us expand our client base. Premise is unlike any other company in the Federal Civilian industry - a venture-funded technology firm seeking to disrupt remote data collection and analytics. We’re looking for an ambitious risk-taker who loves to be challenged, relishes the idea of helping build a different kind solution, and believes in the power of data to improve outcomes. 

The Role. You will be responsible for identifying opportunities within federal civilian agencies and prime contractors/service providers of the US Government as well as communicating and coordinating business opportunities with key stakeholders within Premise.  You will use your extensive background in sales to define capture strategies for U.S. Federal customers  in order to achieve successful program awards and product sales. Duties will include and are not limited to:

  • Manage pursuit and capture of new program or product sales through extensive interfacing with government agencies in order to achieve sales goals.
  • Develop new business via phone, email and social media to educate the prospect, introduce our solution, and identify appropriate budgetary holders and end users within the Federal space.
  • Follow up on inbound marketing leads and outbound prospects through a strategic touch plan to generate additional interest in Premise Data and qualify for a potential opportunity
  • Conduct research to identify potential opportunities and understand challenges our clients and prospects today.
  • Identify key buying influencers within these prospects to determine budget and timeline.
  • Work with the key sales drivers to develop and grow the sales pipeline to consistently meet quarterly revenue goals
  • Use Salesforce CRM to track all sales activities properly and manage contact/lead data for accuracy
  • Experience owning and executing sales opportunities, setting sales strategy, tactics, proposals, and negotiations for new and disruptive product solutions as well as coordinating qualified new business capture and sales with government agencies.
  • Lead sales capture efforts for advanced programs and new technical solutions for the customer that align to the business growth strategies of the division.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Mainstream the use of remote data collection and analytics software in the Public Sector
  • Map clients’ needs to the appropriate Premise software license and support offerings
  • Guide clients through a structured sales process that results in their purchase of Premise on our terms

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  • 5+ years of experience in the geospatial, software or analytics industry
  • Active Top Secret security clearance or higher
  • 5+ years of experience working with U.S. federal customers
  • Full-cycle direct business development experience with a concentration in technical and/or  enterprise government sales
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills as a good time manager and effective multi-tasker
  • Superior complex problem solving and decision-making abilities

Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with introducing disruptive technologies to the public sector.
  • Previous experience managing Programs of Record within the public sector.
  • Experience managing opportunity pipeline in Salesforce
  • Experience in multiple federal civilian agencies and interagency assignments

  • You have the Federal Civilian Sector knowledge. Our ideal candidate is intimately familiar with how different agencies and organizations do business.

  • You’re comfortable with data and technology. You don’t need to be an expert, but you should be comfortable with basic statistics and geospatial concepts.

  • You’re a natural teacher and performer. You will spend a lot of time presenting to prospective clients and teaching them how remote data collection and analytics can improve their programs. You should be comfortable spending part of every day in “performance mode.”
