Position Overview

We are seeking a meticulous Technical Writer with expertise in developing procedures and policies tailored for a software and service company on a short-term contract basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in documentation for compliance and governance standards such as NIST 800-171, CMMC, and SOC 2. Experience in cloud technologies including Google Cloud (GCP), Google Workspace, and Amazon Web Services (AWS) is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for policies, procedures, and protocols related to compliance standards such as NIST 800-171, CMMC, and SOC 2.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including compliance officers, IT security, and technical operations to ensure documentation aligns with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Translate technical concepts into clear, concise, and accessible documentation for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular reviews and updates of existing documentation to reflect changes in regulatory requirements and company procedures.
  • Work closely with subject matter experts to gather information and validate technical accuracy of documentation.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Technical Writer in a software company environment, particularly in the public sector or highly regulated industries.
  • In-depth knowledge and practical experience with compliance standards such as NIST 800-171, CMMC, and SOC 2.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies and platforms such as Google Cloud (GCP), Google Workspace, and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical information.
