Anna Michell has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of genetic counseling and clinical governance. Anna began their career as a Vacation Student at the Wellcome Sanger Institute, where they conducted their own project and contributed to a larger project. Anna then worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Oxford, focusing on researching genetic causes of congenital heart disease. Anna gained experience in various techniques and worked under notable professors in the field.

Anna later joined the London North West Healthcare NHS Trust and the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as a Student Genetic Counselor before moving on to become a Principal Genetic Counselor at the University of Oxford. In this role, they managed the Inherited Cardiac Conditions service and led multidisciplinary team meetings.

Recently, Anna held positions at Prenetics, where they made significant contributions. As the Head of Clinical Governance, they played a crucial role in implementing and overseeing the purchase and operation of a new COVID testing technology.
