Rashid Bashir

Academic Co-founder at Prenosis

Rashid Bashir has held various academic and industry positions throughout their career. Rashid is currently an academic co-founder at a stealth biotech startup. Prior to this, they worked at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where they held several roles, including dean of the Grainger College of Engineering and executive associate dean and chief diversity officer at the Carle Illinois College of Medicine. Rashid was also an academic co-founder at Prenosis, Inc. and worked at Purdue University as an assistant, associate, and full professor in electrical and biomedical engineering. Before their academic career, Bashir worked at National Semiconductor as a senior engineering manager in analog process technology development.

Rashid Bashir earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Texas Tech University in 1987. Rashid then went on to earn a Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Purdue University between the years of 1987 and 1989. Following this, Bashir completed a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Purdue University between the years of 1989 and 1992.
