Dr Don Perugini

Dr Don Perugini has extensive experience in the healthcare and technology industries. Dr Don is the co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer of Presagen, an AI healthcare company that connects clinics and patients globally through a decentralized data-centric AI platform. Dr Don has been with Presagen since December 2016.

In addition to their role at Presagen, Dr Perugini has held various mentoring positions. Dr Don was a mentor at Techstars, a global startup accelerator, from January 2017 to October 2022, where they supported early-stage companies in the IoT, big data, sensors, and robotics fields. Dr Don also served as a mentor for CSIRO ON Prime, a pre-accelerator program that helps research teams validate their research and find real-world applications, from February 2017 to September 2021.

Dr Perugini has been involved in mentoring programs in the STEM field as well. Dr Don was a mentor for the Industry Mentoring Network in STEM (IMNIS) from July 2018 to August 2021, providing guidance to PhD students in STEM disciplines. Dr Don also mentored teams in the Australian eChallenge, a competition-based learning experience for early-stage entrepreneurial ventures, from September 2016 to September 2020. Additionally, they served as a mentor for SouthStart Ltd, a mentor-driven startup accelerator, from July 2016 to September 2019.

Aside from their mentoring roles, Dr Perugini has been an advisor for various companies. Dr Don advised Link4 Cloud, an eInvoicing solution provider, from July 2016 to September 2019. Dr Don also advised MIK Health, a company that uses analytics technology to monitor employee messaging apps for signs of mental health conditions, from December 2016 to February 2018.

Prior to their current roles, Dr Perugini was an Executive Director at EY, where they led the integration, development, and market expansion of the Simulait analytics product and team. Dr Don worked at EY from April 2015 to July 2016. Before joining EY, they founded ISD Analytics, a global technology company, where they served as Director and CEO. ISD Analytics was acquired by EY in 2015, and Dr Perugini led the development and commercialization of its award-winning product, Simulait.

Overall, Dr Don Perugini has a diverse background in AI healthcare, mentoring, and technology, with a focus on predictive analytics and behavior modeling.

Dr Don Perugini received their Bachelor of Electrical & Electronic Engineering (Honors) from the University of Adelaide, where they studied from 1993 to 1996. Dr Don went on to obtain their PhD in Computer Science and Software Engineering from the University of Melbourne, completing their doctoral studies from 2000 to 2005.
