Jonathan Szish has a diverse work experience in the fields of communications, public relations, and media. Starting in 1996, they worked as a Reporter and Weekly Editor for the Butler Eagle. Jonathan then served as a Graduate Intern Reporter for The Beaver County Times in 1998. From 1999 to 2004, Jonathan worked as an Education Reporter for the Valley News Dispatch / Trib Total Media. During their time at the University of Pittsburgh from 2003 to 2005, they worked as a Freelance Writer for Pitt Magazine. In 2004, they joined the Armstrong School District as a School and Community Relations Coordinator and later became the Human Resources Manager. Jonathan also held various roles such as being a Media Liaison, Web Site Team Leader, and Publications Leader during their time at the Armstrong School District. In 2007, Jonathan worked as a Freelance Writer for Carnegie Mellon University's Carnegie Mellon Today Magazine and SeeSaw Networks as a Freelance Marketing Writer. From 2010 to 2021, they worked for the Norwin School District, starting as the Coordinator of School and Community Relations, then becoming the Executive Assistant / Board Secretary, and finally serving as the Director of Communications and Development. Since 2021, Jonathan has been working as the Director of Corporate Communications & Public Relations for the Presbyterian SeniorCare Network.

Jonathan Szish earned a Bachelor's degree in English / Composite Writing from the University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown from 1992 to 1996. Jonathan then pursued a Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) from Regent University, completing it between 2016 and 2019. Additionally, in 2001, they took an Introduction to Java course at Butler County Community College. Jonathan also holds certifications, including an ALICE Training Individual Certification obtained in July 2019 from the ALICE Training Institute and an IS-700.A: National Incident Management System (NIMS) An Introduction obtained in July 2015 from the National Incident Management System (NIMS).
