John Heiney

John Heiney is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in community outreach and communications. Currently serving as the Director of Community Outreach for the City of Prescott since January 2017, John oversees communications, community affairs, tourism, and economic development, managing a significant budget. Prior to this role, John spent nearly 18 years as the Executive Director of the City of Birmingham Principal Shopping District, where John managed operations of a commercial tax authority. John's earlier experience includes positions as Communications Manager at Mercy Health Plans and Communications Coordinator at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, along with a brief role as Communications Specialist at Perry Drug Stores. John holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications with a minor in Journalism from Oakland University.
