Patricia Winterton, CFRE, is an accomplished fundraising professional with extensive experience in philanthropy and development. Currently serving as Vice President of Philanthropy at the National Trust for Historic Preservation since January 2023, Patricia leads major and planned giving teams to enhance philanthropic revenue and engage high-level donors. Previously, as Chief Advancement Officer at the Smithsonian Institution, Patricia directed a ten-member development team, successfully doubling annual fundraising results. At Indiana University Bloomington, Patricia held roles including Director of Development, where strategic campaign leadership resulted in exceeding a significant fundraising goal, and Development Officer, generating both unrestricted and restricted gifts. Early career experiences include serving as Principal Gift Officer at Butler University and Development Associate at Indiana University. Patricia holds an MA in Social Science from the University of Chicago and a BA in Liberal Studies from Montana State University-Bozeman.
