Rebekah Hailes

Rebekah Hailes has a diverse range of work experience spanning multiple industries and roles.

Starting in 2010, they worked as a GCSE & A Level Tutor at First Tutors until 2012. In 2013, they completed a research placement at UCL and also worked as a Marketing Intern at 3Desk.

Rebekah then pursued their academic career, starting as a Research Placement at the University of Bristol in 2014. In 2015, they transitioned into a PhD Researcher role at the same university, conducting research under the supervision of Prof. Ian Manners F.R. During their time as a PhD Researcher, they also took on the role of Graduate Teaching Assistant from 2016 to 2019.

In 2019, they joined Chalmers University of Technology as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow. In this role, they gained experience in multidisciplinary research and focused on synthesizing polymer and polyelectrolyte brushes for protein capture and release applications. Rebekah also contributed to writing and submitting publications to high-impact journals.

In 2021, Rebekah became a Scientific Coordinator at the University of Gothenburg, where they stayed until 2022. Currently, they are working as a Program Manager at Pretzel Therapeutics, starting in January 2022.

Throughout their career, Rebekah has demonstrated a high level of expertise in chemistry, biology, and physics, as well as strong skills in writing, editing, and publishing scientific research.

Rebekah Hailes began their education at Newstead Wood School for Girls in 2004, where they studied until 2009. Rebekah then attended St. Olaves Grammar School from 2009 to 2011. After completing their secondary education, they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) in Chemistry at the University of Bristol from 2007 to 2015. Rebekah Hailes further continued their academic journey at the University of Bristol by enrolling in a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program in Chemistry, which they completed from 2015 to 2019.
