Adnan Arnaout has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of biomedical engineering and research. Adnan began their career as a Peer Tutor and later became a Research Assistant at the Tissue Engineering Lab at the American University of Beirut, where they focused on neural and cardiovascular tissue engineering. During their time there, they developed biomaterials for cancer treatment, designed conductive scaffolds, and contributed to conference papers and journal publications.
Adnan then worked as a Research Scholar at the Surgical Robotics Lab at the University of Twente, where they developed and tracked self-propelled micro-robots for targeted drug delivery applications. Adnan also investigated path-planning algorithms for autonomous obstacle avoidance.
Continuing their research pursuits, Adnan took on roles as a Research Trainee at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Research Associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Research Intern at United Therapeutics Corporation. In these positions, they worked on tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, and bioprinting, focusing on areas such as muscle atrophy and volumetric muscle loss disease, as well as lung recellularization.
Adnan further expanded their research experience as a Research Associate at the American University of Beirut, where they investigated the potential use of sulfated alginates for lung cancer treatment. Adnan also served as a Project Innovator and Consultant for the Duke Interdisciplinary Social Innovators, providing organizational improvement proposals for a local NGO.
Prior to joining Prevail Therapeutics as a Principal Scientist and later as a Senior Principal Scientist in Analytical Development, Adnan worked as a Scientist at PPD, specializing in cell-based assays. In their current role at Prevail Therapeutics, they lead analytical development activities for AAV gene therapy products, including method development and qualification, stability studies, and regulatory submissions.
Throughout their career, Adnan has demonstrated a strong expertise in immunoassays, cell-based assays, gene expression assays, and various analytical techniques for AAV characterization. Adnan has also gained experience in tech transfer, process development, and regulatory filings.
Overall, Adnan brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to their work in the field of biomedical engineering, with a particular focus on tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, and gene therapy product development.
Adnan Arnaout obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University from 2018 to 2019. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Mechanical Engineering at the American University of Beirut from 2012 to 2016. As part of their undergraduate studies, they also participated in an exchange program at the University of California, Berkeley in 2014. Additionally, Adnan Arnaout has obtained several certifications, including leadership courses, cloud computing, machine learning, and data analysis, from various institutions such as LinkedIn, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and DataCamp. Adnan also received the Lilly Innovation Award from Eli Lilly and Company in 2022.
