Jacobus Kok

Vice President, Product Management at Priceline

Jacobus Kok has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Jacobus currently works as the Vice President of Product Management at Priceline, where they are responsible for building a seamless and customer-centric Checkout & Payments experience. Prior to this, they held positions as the Director of Product and Director of Consumer Risk Management at Priceline. In these roles, they managed payment fraud prevention, chargeback defense, and alternative payments, implementing machine learning and behavioral analysis fraud screening.

Before joining Priceline, Jacobus co-founded and served as the Managing Director of Buro, an Apple Authorized Reseller. Jacobus led the company in offering a range of Apple products and B2B IT services. Buro was later acquired by Digicape. Jacobus also has teaching experience as a Teaching Fellow in Economics at Yale University, specializing in market analysis and the economics of innovation.

Earlier in their career, Jacobus co-founded Limbik, a strategic branding and communications agency. Jacobus played a key role in raising brand profiles and improving customer engagement for clients. Jacobus also worked as a Junior Lecturer in Multimedia Studies at the University of Stellenbosch.

Jacobus began their career as an intern at Vodacom, where they conducted research on policy formulation and the strategic implications of 3G implementation.

Jacobus Kok's education history is as follows:

From 2000 to 2003, they attended Stellenbosch University and earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree with a focus on Value and Policy Studies.

In 2004, they attended Stellenbosch University again and completed an Honors Bachelor of Arts (HonsBA) degree in Philosophy.

From 2012 to 2014, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at the University of Cape Town, specializing in Strategy & Finance.

In 2014, they participated in an exchange program at Duke University - The Fuqua School of Business, where they studied towards their MBA degree.

From 2014 to 2015, they studied at the Yale School of Management and obtained a Master of Advanced Management (MAM) degree with a focus on Technology Management & Entrepreneurship.

Additionally, in February 2016, they completed the Data Analysis Circuit certification program offered by General Assembly.
