T.J. Carter has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and organizations. In 2010, they started as a Resident Assistant at Northern Michigan University, where they focused on building and resident safety while resolving conflicts and crises.
In 2012, T.J. worked as a Community Living Support staff at Marquette Staffing Agency, assisting individuals with developmental disabilities in their daily activities and social development. T.J. also managed and responded to medical emergencies.
From 2013 to 2015, T.J. served as a Graduate Assistant for Training and Development at the University of Texas at Arlington, where they boosted student engagement and school spirit. In early 2022, T.J. took on the role of Strategic Project Manager at Primary.Health. T.J. led or partnered on key strategic projects and initiatives, focusing on internal process improvement, employee engagement, culture development, and external project ideation and implementation. T.J. implemented listening sessions, culture initiatives, and a monthly Skill Building & Enablement program.
