Ed Chamberlayne

Ed is an experienced senior leader with both private industry and military experience who excels at leading, motivating, and inspiring teams to solve problems and deliver value to clients and stakeholders. He is a former U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) District Commander with over 25 years of military service. While serving as the commander of the USACE Baltimore District, he led a workforce of more than 1,100 employees, who oversaw an annual program of over $1.5 billion, provided support for 22 military installations, including international and interagency customers, and added water resources infrastructure between Northern Virginia and New York. While the commander of the USACE Charleston District, he led the District to expand and deepen the Charleston Harbor, support military and interagency clients across the United States, and balance responsible development and environmental stewardship throughout South Carolina.

Ed’s military awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service and Expeditionary Medals, NATO Medal, Combat Action Badge, the Air Assault Badge, and the Silver de Fleury Medal. He was also awarded the Order of the Palmetto by South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley in June 2013. In 2021, he was selected as a Fellow within the Society of American Military Engineers.
