The Design Engineer, Wireless will join our group that focuses on Data-Wireless Systems, DAS, ERCS, and Cellular Networks. The role involves overseeing project planning and execution, ensuring compliance with industry standards, providing technical guidance, managing project timelines and budgets, conducting technical reviews, and facilitating team communication. What You Will Do
- Design and commission cost-effective Neutral Host DAS systems for large enterprises, manufacturing, and airports using iBwave software.
- Build and coordinate relationships with equipment manufacturers, contractors, installers, integrators, and operations teams.
- Write and review design standards and specifications.
- Create, review, and maintain bills of materials (BOMs).
- Collaborate with engineering teams and field personnel on schedules, budgets, and project criteria for design and layouts.
- Support site walks, commissioning, and optimization work.
- Assist with installation and testing of Wireless Systems and DAS equipment; support troubleshooting as needed.
- Manage designs, redlines, and mark-ups on projects; analyze reports, drawings, and calculations; organize and maintain project drawings and related information systematically.
What You Will Need to be Successful
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience, with at least three years in DAS design/integration.
- Strong technical knowledge of DAS network solutions and products.
- Field experience with DAS integration, commissioning, troubleshooting, fiber optic, and CATEGORY cabling.
- FCC General Radio Operators License.
- Experience using iBwave in-building RF design software; iBwave Certification preferred.
- Preferred experience in the in-building wireless industry, either with a carrier or DAS third party operators/turnkey systems integrators.
- Strong understanding of complex Neutral Host DAS systems.
- Experience with multiple OEMs; knowledge of JMA/TEKO, Corning/SpiderCloud, SOLiD, ADRF, CommScope, Nokia, Ericsson DAS platforms preferred.
- Certifications in JMA/TEKO, Corning, SOLiD, ADRF, CommScope preferred.
- Knowledge of wireless technologies, including 4G LTE and 5G.
- Knowledge in telecommunications, cable/conduit routing, equipment rack layouts, wired and wireless communications, floor plans, power/cooling.
- Ability to professionally interact with clients, lead project calls, and direct teammates on design requirements.
