As the head of Primera’s utilities-focused civil engineering team, Tom’s analytical nature ensures that he, and his team, stay one step ahead of any potential project challenges. As he explains, “He enjoy staying up-to-date with the most current capabilities of industry software available. He is always looking for new ways to streamline design and plan production.” Tom’s knack for solving complex problems ensures that the utilities projects are buildable, designed per client standards, and meet all regulatory requirements. His expertise is the result of more than 15 years of experience in utility layout and design, site design, stormwater detention and drainage design, erosion control design and inspection, preparation of spill prevention control and countermeasure plans, preparation of contract documents, and construction administration.
Tom earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Purdue University and joined a small site development firm focused on residential subdivision design. From there, he expanded his skills and joined another firm that worked primarily with federal, municipal and large utility clients before joining Primera in 2012 as a civil engineer. Currently, Tom leads the civil engineering group for the utilities division, which provides expertise in construction methods, permitting, and drainage for utility clients across the United States.
