James Denton

Dr. James Denton is the current president of the medical staff at Novant Health UVA Health System Culpeper Medical Center. He also serves as the director of surgery and is board certified in general surgery and general vascular surgery. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia, and his medical degree from the University of Virginia Medical School in Charlottesville, Virginia. Denton did his training in general surgery at the University of Alabama Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama and his peripheral vascular training at University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Denton has been a member of the Virginia Board of Medicine as well as the Life Resources Regional Donor Center Board of Trustees. He has also served the Virginia Surgical Society as a council member, treasurer and president.
