Erik Long is an experienced fisheries technician with a strong background in aquatic sciences and environmental work. Currently serving as a Fisheries Technician at Prince William Sound Aquaculture Corporation since July 2020, Erik focuses on sockeye brood stock collection and hatchery maintenance. Concurrently, Erik has been a North Pacific Groundfish Observer with A.I.S. Inc. since December 2014, collecting critical data on commercial fishing vessels in the North Pacific. Previous roles include a Fisheries Technician III with the Native Village of Eyak, where fieldwork involved mark and recapture studies on adult Chinook salmon, and a Fisheries Technician with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, assessing lake fish populations. Erik's earlier experience includes internships and research assistance roles that involved environmental sampling and data collection. Erik holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science from SUNY Brockport, completed in 2014.
