Scott Smith

Scott Smith is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience at Principal Asset Management since 1999, rising to the position of Managing Director and Portfolio Manager, where Scott leads as the Global Head of Target Date. Smith has been instrumental in designing target date glide paths across multiple countries and has managed various funds including Principal LifeTime Funds and Principal LifeTime Hybrid CITs. Earlier roles included Portfolio Manager for asset allocation and research, focusing on traditional frameworks and quantitative analysis with a background in healthcare and biotechnology equity analysis. Scott holds a BS in Business Administration with a Finance concentration from Iowa State University and a Certificate in Leadership and Management from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.
