Christopher J. Littlefield

Chris Littlefield has been the Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Principal Financial Group® since January 2020.

Prior to that date, he was President and CEO of Fidelity & Guaranty Life Insurance Holdings from October 2014 to December 2018 and previously served as President and CEO of Aviva USA Corporation from February 2009 to October 2013. He served as Chief Operating Officer of Aviva USA Corporation from February 2008 – September 2009. Prior to that, he served as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of AmerUs Group Co. (rebranded as AvivaUSA in November 2016) from January 2006 to February 2008.

Chris earned his B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona, and his law degree from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa.
