Gustavo Hooper

Gustavo Hooper has a diverse work experience in the energy trading industry. Gustavo started their career at Shell Brasil Ltda., where they worked as a Trainee in Supply Latin America and Shell Aviation. Gustavo later became a Supply Cost Analyst. Gustavo then joined Raízen, where they held various roles such as Assessor de Planejamento, Trader for Ethanol and Byproducts, and Pricing Manager for Oil Products. During their time at Raízen, they were responsible for pricing strategy, contract bidding, and commercial negotiations. Gustavo then worked at Sinochem Petróleo Brasil LTDA as the Crude Oil Business Development and Crude Oil Marketing and Operations. In these positions, they managed the commercial strategy and trading operations for over 10 million barrels of crude oil per year. After that, they joined PetroChina International, where they worked as a Crude Oil Trader and Business Development Manager. Gustavo recently worked at Origem Energia as the Oil & Gas Trading Director and then at GR4 Capital as a Co-Founder & Partner. Currently, they are the Head of Trading at PRIO. Gustavo Hooper also has experience as an Angel Investor in buddy.vet.

Gustavo Hooper earned a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro in 2010. Gustavo then pursued further education at the Universidad de Salamanca in 2008, where they obtained another Bachelor's Degree in Economics. In 2010, they attended COPPEAD UFRJ to study Finance, and in 2016, they enrolled in the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro to earn a Master of Science degree in Business Administration and Management.
