Job description

The Content & Communications, Manager is responsible for controlling and overseeing the flow of communication and information between the company and key stakeholders including but not limited to prospects, customers, employees, the media, analysts and investors. Primary responsibilities include messaging, positioning statements, managing the communications function, overseeing the overall content strategy including thought leadership initiatives and public relations campaigns.

Additional responsibilities include managing the company award and recognition program and assisting with marketing demand programs. This role will report directly to the VP of Marketing and work cross-functionally with leadership, sales and product teams.

What you'll do:

  • Develop effective messaging, positioning and communication strategies for the company

  • Be responsible for a comprehensive content strategy, manage the company’s thought leadership initiative, and be the primary author of content, including email marketing, digests, blogs, white papers, infographics, trends pieces, etc.

  • Develop a comprehensive communications public relations strategy including a press release calendar to promote company milestones (i.e. product news, company milestones, financial updates, partner announcements, awards and company recognition, new hires, etc.)

  • Ensure all company promotional materials have a consistent voice, messaging and branding across all the marketing channels (i.e. email campaigns, social media, etc.)

  • Develop relationships with with media outlets including the legal press, and trade, business and online publications Respond to media inquires quickly and coordinate press briefings as needed

  • Work with vendors to negotiate and secure contracts as needed (i.e. wire distribution, content syndication, freelancers, etc)

  • Manage the company’s award programs and submissions (i.e. company and financial awards, joint-customer awards, industry recognition, etc).

Who you are:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of marketing, journalism, public relations or communications experience

  • Deep experience with the legal industry and legal technology

  • Proven ability to deliver consistently strong measurable results related to content syndication, public relations and media outreach

  • Exceptional writing skills

  • Analytical skills to solve problems quickly and find the best way to convey a message

  • Creativity to create crisp messaging that produces interesting and engaging content

  • Organizational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize projects while working on a deadline in a fast-paced

  • Tech-savvy and the ability to create engaging and relevant content across all marketing mediums

  • Strong understanding of SEO and ability to prioritize keywords to make an organic impact

  • Ability to work in content management tools and some experience using Salesforce.com and marketing automation tools

  • Must be a proactive leader that is collaborative in nature, strategic and a resourceful problem solver
