How you'll make an impact
SonderMind is seeking a Performance Marketing Director to develop campaign strategy and performance marketing tactics to support advertising, brand growth, and awareness across all content-led paid channels.
As the Director of Performance Marketing, you will develop and scale the performance marketing strategy to help achieve SonderMind’s business goals, test to find the best ways to drive engagement, and deliver growth across channels. You will work with a team that develops, manages, and executes marketing campaigns that acquire, nurture and retain clients. This role oversees a key marketing function and requires a strong leader with previous experience managing a team and external vendors.
What you'll do
- Help define the vision, build, and lead the Performance Marketing function for SonderMind
- Help drive and execute brand, acquisition and retention campaign strategies and identify best practices for acquiring and retaining customers through a variety of digital channels, such as search, paid social, TV/OTT, display, and email.
- Ensure consumers are shown targeted content at each stage of the funnel by bridging data, trends, and creative into performance driving content.
- Own cross-channel campaigns and performance to drive and optimize customer acquisition and retention against sales and growth KPIs across Display, Programmatic, Social, Affiliate, SEM, OTT, OOH.
- Establish and continue to evaluate and scale best practices, KPIs, and metrics
- Continually optimize each stage of the funnel and pipeline to increase conversion and/or leads
- Oversee all email execution and campaign performance
- Proactively improve overall campaign processes and identify new opportunities to test, measure, and scale new channels, working closely with the Finance and Analytics teams, to spend scaling tests to identify what works best
- Stay current on marketing, media, technology, and industry trends and requirements to continue to innovate and find ways to drive improvement and optimization of campaigns and programs
- Work with the E-commerce, CRM, and Digital Product teams to A/B test landing pages targeted at prospective customer segments and cohorts.

Required Experience
- Minimum 5-7+ years of hands-on experience in growth marketing, acquisition/performance marketing, or account-based marketing campaigns for D2C service-related companies.
- Experience within a high-growth organization, ideally coming from a company selling highly considered services in a DTC environment
- Direct experience scaling digital performance and impact through successful and innovative approaches
- Proven ability to build programs from scratch
- Strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to partner across an organization
- Tech-savvy and up to date on all marketing and digital tools, platforms, and best practices
- Experience owning sophisticated reporting and KPI dashboards throughout the marketing funnel
- Strong working knowledge to confidently lead technical conversations that include ad servers, tagging, conversion tracking, and audience segmentation
- Evangelist of test and learn mentality
- Ability to solve ambiguous/open-ended business challenges and act as an advocate for change

Our Benefits
The anticipated salary range for this role is $132,000- $150,000. This role is eligible to participate in our equity incentive and variable bonus plan. Actual compensation is based commensurate with qualifications and experience.
