Kelly Mendis-Gunasekera has extensive work experience in the healthcare industry. Kelly started their career in 2001 as a Training Advisor at YMCA Training, where they supervised and supported candidates pursuing NVQ qualifications in Health & Social Care. In 2002, they joined Craegmoor Healthcare as a Registered Manager and later became the Business Support Manager, responsible for managing residential and domiciliary care services.

In 2011, Kelly joined Priory as a Regional Manager for Craegmoor, overseeing multiple sites and ensuring compliance with legal and organizational requirements. Kelly then progressed to roles such as Peripatetic Manager, Senior Quality Improvement Lead, and Associate Director of Quality and Governance for Specialist Services, where they provided quality oversight and ensured compliance with regulatory bodies.

Most recently, Kelly served as the Associate Director of Quality and Governance (South East) for Priory Adult Care, where they were responsible for improving practice performance and ensuring quality indicators, governance requirements, care standards, and health and safety regulations were met. Throughout their career, Kelly has demonstrated a strong commitment to delivering high-quality care and driving improvement in the healthcare sector.

Kelly Mendis-Gunasekera completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Business Administration and Management - Level 7 Senior Leader Apprenticeship from Arden University, graduating in 2024. Prior to their MBA, they attended Hillcrest Secondary School from 1988 to 1993. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications including a Level 4 Registered Managers Award, C25 - Coaching learners in the Workplace, D34 internal Verifiers Award, Level 4 - Generic Management, Level 3 - Generic Management, Assessors Qualification - D32/33, and NVQ - Level 3 Modern Apprenticeship Health and Social Care.
