Jörn Hackbarth

Head of Project Execution & Operation at Private Energy Partners

Jörn Hackbarth has extensive work experience in the energy industry. Jörn is currently the Head of Project Execution & Operation at Private Energy Partners since March 2022. Prior to this, they held the role of Director at an undisclosed company starting in February 2022.

From January 2016 to May 2022, they worked at Sonnedix as the EVP, Global Head of Engineering & Construction, overseeing projects in various markets including South Africa, Japan, Chile, Puerto Rico, Spain, France, Italy, and the UK. Before that, they held the position of Head of Engineering & Construction from October 2014 to January 2016, focusing on South Africa, Japan, and Chile.

Jörn worked as the Vice President of Engineering at Scatec Solar Solutions GmbH from July 2013 to September 2014, where they were responsible for engineering activities and the planning and design of PV plants globally.

Prior to that, Jörn Hackbarth worked at Phoenix Solar AG as the Director of Power Plant Construction from February 2012 to July 2013. Jörn also served as the Head of Engineering and Construction Emerging and New Markets from September 2011 to January 2012, overseeing large-scale projects in Africa, South America, and the Middle East.

From October 2008 to August 2011, they worked at Statkraft as the Manager of Project Development, focusing on the development of gas-fired power plants in Europe and handling the complete project lifecycle.

Jörn'scareer began at Fichtner Consulting Engineers in February 1999, where they held the position of Project Manager and headed the technical regional office in Abu Dhabi. Jörn worked on various international projects in countries such as the UAE, Kenya, Mongolia, and Romania until September 2008.

Jörn Hackbarth obtained a Professional Certificate in Coaching from Henley Business School in 2020. Prior to that, they completed a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Project Management from the University of Aberdeen, from the years 2003 to 2005. Before their postgraduate studies, Jörn received a Bachelor of Science (BSc) Hons. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering in 1998, after a four-year period of study from 1994 to 1998 at Technische Hochschule Lübeck, where they earned a Diplom Ing. (FH) in Nachrichtentechnik.
