Douglas Cohen has over 20 years of work experience in the finance industry. Douglas started their career as a Senior Tax Accountant at Arthur Andersen, where they worked with multinational and domestic broker/dealers, investment partnerships, mutual funds, and real estate companies. Douglas gained experience in compliance and supervising staff during their time there.
In 1997, Cohen joined Goelet, LLC as a Managing Director - Investments. In this role, they were responsible for managing the investments of a family office, including long-only equity, credit, hedge funds, private equity, venture capital, commodities, and real estate. Douglas communicated with and monitored the performance of portfolio and investment managers to ensure success.
In 2010, Cohen joined Privet Capital LLC as a Managing Director. In this dual role, they oversee a multi-billion dollar fund of funds portfolio and also serves as a senior analyst for an internally managed marketable securities portfolio. Douglas'sspecialization lies in the energy and healthcare sectors. Additionally, they develop and implements long-term asset allocation strategies for the family based on market assumptions, liquidity preferences, risk tolerances, and current holdings.
Douglas Cohen completed their education with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Cornell University, where they studied from 1988 to 1992. Douglas then pursued further studies at the Fordham Gabelli School of Business, completing their Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Finance from 1996 to 1999.
