James Garner

James Garner has a strong background in audit and compliance, with experience in various leadership roles. James is currently employed at Privia Health as the Senior Director of Audit & Compliance since March 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Privia Health as the Director of Audit & Compliance from August 2020 to March 2022.

Before joining Privia Health, James Garner worked at Crowe Healthcare Risk Consulting LLC (formerly CHAN Healthcare) as the Healthcare Risk Manager from December 2009 to August 2020. In this role, they led and performed risk assessments, audits, and consulting engagements for healthcare clients. James also provided guidance to new associates and contributed to the preparation and presentation of materials for executive management and governance.

James Garner's previous experience includes working at Healthways as the Internal Audit Manager from January 2008 to December 2009, and as a Sr. Internal Auditor from October 2003 to December 2007. James started their career at Nashville Wire as a Corporate Accountant from 2001 to 2003, and at Central Parking as an Accountant from 1999 to 2001.

James Garner attended Missouri State University-West Plains from 1994 to 1996, studying Accounting. James then transferred to Freed-Hardeman University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Accounting from 1996 to 1998. James Garner also holds a certification as a Certified Internal Auditor from the Institute of Internal Audit.
