Joseph Cairns

Joseph Cairns has a diverse range of work experience in the field of information technology. Joseph started their career as an IT Support Specialist at Tata Technologies, providing deskside and remote support for multiple locations. Joseph also worked as a Site Administrator, overseeing IT support for the Troy office and managing platforms such as Teamcenter, NX 9+, and Catia. During this time, Joseph implemented improvements to FCA Teamcenter deployments and maintained servers using Xen Server and Windows Server.

After Tata Technologies, Joseph served as an IT Specialist II at Clear Rate Communications, where they managed infrastructure and provided client education on IT products. Joseph utilized PowerShell scripts to streamline operations and administered servers and services such as Active Directory, Exchange, and WordPress.

Joseph then transitioned to WSM International as a Cloud Systems Engineer, specializing in cloud migration and Windows Server maintenance. Joseph successfully led and executed server and cloud migration projects for various clients, ensuring smooth transitions to hosting providers like AWS.

Following their role at WSM International, Joseph joined Sachse Construction as an IT Systems Administrator, providing remote support to an enterprise of five companies with around 300 employees. Joseph led evaluations, proofs-of-concept, and cloud migrations for AWS and Microsoft Azure servers. Joseph also managed tasks related to applications, databases, and data migrations for both Windows and Linux systems.

Most recently, Joseph worked at Privia Health as an Information Technology Infrastructure Engineer, where they collaborated with the DevOps team to execute cloud-based infrastructure projects using tools such as Terraform and Ansible. Joseph successfully managed Google Identity for thousands of users across multiple applications and performed threat management and incident response for a large number of endpoints. During their time at Privia Health, Joseph demonstrated leadership qualities by mentoring junior team members and acting as the IT Infrastructure Manager in the absence of the incumbent.

Joseph Cairns has a diverse education history. In 2006, they obtained their high school diploma from the Arts Academy in the Woods, where they focused on music. After high school, they attended Macomb Community College from 2010 to 2013 and received an Associate's degree in General Studies. Joseph furthered their education by pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Cloud Computing from Western Governors University. Joseph enrolled in the program and is expected to graduate in 2023. Additionally, Joseph has obtained various certifications in different areas of technology and IT operations, including "Okta Certified Professional" from Okta, "Advanced Pandas," "Applied AI for IT Operations," and "Securing Containers and Kubernetes Ecosystem" from LinkedIn, and several others from different institutions. In 2024, Joseph plans to pursue an MBA in Information Technology Management from Western Governors University, furthering their education in the field of business.
