Ken Malin

Quality Assurance Analyst at ProAssurance

Ken Malin has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and companies. Ken started their career in 1990 at American Physicians Insurance Company, initially working as a Programmer and eventually transitioning into the role of Manager of Technical Services. In this role, they oversaw network administration and collaborated with department heads on various projects. During their time at API, they also worked as a Programmer/Analyst, where they maintained and created programs for database manipulation and coordinated system conversions.

In 1998, Ken joined MAXIMUS as a Unix Administrator, where they programmed in UNIX and assisted with legacy system setup and maintenance. Later that year, they moved to American Physicians Insurance Company as a System Administrator, where they played a crucial role in supporting the technical needs of six companies and eight remote offices. Ken supervised a team and implemented networking projects, including WAN design using frame relay and Cisco routers.

Ken then briefly worked at ProAssurance as a Quality Assurance Analyst, designing and executing test plans and collaborating with developers and product analysts to ensure product functionality. Ken subsequently returned to API and took on the roles of Business Analyst and Quality Assurance Analyst/Business Analyst. In these roles, they led projects such as the Roll Forward Invoicing Project and the creation of IT General Computing Controls.

Throughout their career, Ken has demonstrated strong technical and analytical skills, as well as the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and lead projects.

Ken Malin earned an Associate's degree in Computer and Information Sciences, General from Austin Community College, where they studied from 1987 to 1990. In 2011, they obtained a certification in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) from ISACA.
