Kim Lawter has extensive work experience in internal audit and enterprise risk management. They started their career as a Senior Auditor at Walter Industries, Inc. in 1996 and worked there until 2002. From 2002 to 2004, they served as the Internal Audit Manager at Bruno's Supermarkets, Inc. They then joined Infinity Property & Casualty Corp. as the VP of Internal Audit from 2004 to 2010. After that, they worked as an Independent Consultant specializing in internal audit and enterprise risk management. In 2011, they joined ProAssurance Corp. as the Vice President and Chief of Internal Audit, where they continue to work. Kim is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).

Kim Lawter received a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting from Jacksonville State University, where they studied from 1983 to 1988.
