Mary Agnes Welch is a seasoned journalist and researcher with extensive experience in public policy reporting and research. Currently serving as Principal and Senior Researcher at Probe Research Inc. in Canada since April 2016, Welch previously worked at the Winnipeg Free Press as a Public Policy Reporter from 2002 to February 2016, and prior to that, reported for the Windsor Star (1999-2002) and Odessa American (1997-1998). Educational qualifications include a Master's Degree in Journalism from Columbia University, a Southam Journalism Fellowship from Massey College at the University of Toronto, and a Bachelor’s Degree in History (Hons.) from the University of Alberta.
