The Opportunity That Awaits You: As an Equipment Technician Supervisor, you will play a critical role in overseeing manufacturing processes and ensuring equipment performance meets the highest quality and efficiency standards. You will lead a team of technicians while driving process improvements, troubleshooting technical challenges, and collaborating cross-functionally with R&D, Process Development, and Manufacturing teams. Your leadership will help streamline operations, support new process implementation, and elevate the performance of manufacturing systems. What Your Day-To-Day Will Involve:
Apply comprehensive knowledge of equipment and tooling design principles to optimize manufacturing processes.
Assess and resolve technical challenges using advanced analytical problem-solving techniques.
Innovate to address equipment issues and implement creative, practical solutions.
Develop and document equipment troubleshooting guidelines and standard operating procedures.
People Management:
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of technicians to ensure high performance and continuous growth.
Allocate resources effectively, manage schedules, and provide training to improve team proficiency.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to enhance individual and team performance.
Complexity and Problem Solving:
Troubleshoot technical issues, optimize automation processes and improve system reliability.
Conduct risk assessments and implement strategies to mitigate equipment-related hazards.
Devise and execute solutions to improve manufacturing processes' efficiency, safety, and reliability. - Collaboration and Interaction:
Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, electrical, and software engineering teams to integrate and optimize equipment systems.
Manage projects, establish timelines, and deliver equipment-related solutions on time and within budget.
Work closely with key suppliers to design, build, or procure tools, fixtures, and other equipment components.
Write test protocols, conduct testing (using DOE methodologies), and document results for process improvement initiatives.
Provide technical support and training to manufacturing personnel.
The Qualifications We Need You to Possess
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field.
Minimum 5+ years of experience in equipment engineering within medical device, capital equipment, or other regulated industries.
Proven experience in people management, including team leadership, mentoring, and resource allocation.
Expertise:
Machine design and automation systems.
PLC integration and programming for automated equipment.
Prototyping fixtures and basic machining (milling/lathe).
Root cause analysis and process problem-solving.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in SolidWorks and Microsoft Office Suite.
Travel:
Willingness to travel up to 20%, domestic and international.
