SUMMARY The person in this role will be responsible for helping in the supplier identification and selection for direct materials to support new and existing products for scale up, cost reduction, quality improvement, risk reduction etc. They will also be expected to identify & resolve supply issues that could impact new product timelines or production builds.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be required as assigned)

  • Will help with the supplier identification and selection for all commodities required to manufacture Procept products. This includes metals, plastics, PCBAs, cables, and various electronic components in conjunction with Senior Sourcing Manager and Senior Director of Supply Chain.
  • Act as primary liaison between Supply Chain organization and all internal and external partners for covered programs.
  • Excellent at analyzing, tracking, organizing, and presenting cost-related data in clear, concise formats for all levels of technical and non-technical audiences.
  • May include negotiate Supply Agreements with suppliers with a goal to secure Procept’s interests in quality, cost, delivery, capacity, and performance in conjunction with Senior Sourcing Manager and Senior Director of Supply Chain.
  • Responsible for driving assigned projects to manage supply chain risk management (Tier 1 and sub-tier) and reduce supply continuity risk(s).
  • Support Bill of Materials (BOM) cost reduction targets through competitive sourcing techniques.
  • Conduct RFQ, and RFI, negotiating favorable prices and terms of purchase to provide sustainable cost, quality, and adherence to procurement policies.
  • Supports the development of commodity strategies and will help execute approved commodity strategies.
  • Participate in supplier quarterly reviews and communicate expectations.
  • Lead or participate in the continuous improvement of business processes and tools.
  • Understand and adhere to the PROCEPT BioRobotics EHS Policy
  • Maintain trained status for, and comply with, all relevant aspects of the PROCEPT BioRobotics Quality Management System to ensure product and support regulatory compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, Certifications)

  • BS degree in an Engineering discipline, Business Administration or related field is preferred but not require
  • PMP or PMI certifications from an accredited organization are preferred.
  • 5+ years of working experience working in direct materials for new and existing products.
  • Experience with and a functional understanding of the manufacturing processes utilized by the suppliers of mechanical components (precision machining, sheet metal, plastic injection molding and other plastics processes) or contract manufacturing, OEM or electro-mechanical components (motors / sensors), or electronic components (PCA/PCBA/Optics, etc.,)
  • Experienced with supplier negotiations, contract development, and experience with make vs. buy decisions & ROI analysis is preferred.
  • High analytics capability and experience
  • Excellent communication skills including verbal, email and presentation.
  • Working knowledge of buying, material planning, master scheduling, and forecasting. Certifications: CPSM, CPIM, and/or PMP is a plus.
  • Demonstrates concern for precision and thoroughness.
  • Ability to proactively follow-up on areas of responsibility in a timely manner.
  • Experience working with engineers and manufacturing personnel for prototype parts procurement, pilot activities and production launch of new products.
  • Ability to enjoy and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Significant computer experience including MS Office products and ERP systems. Strong MS-Excel skills.
  • Read and have a basic understanding of engineering drawings.
  • Basic understanding of data visualization tools (similar to Tableau, Power BI etc.,) is a plus Knowledge of Cost of Goods Sold (COGs) and cost levers.
